Gigatown is an online and real world competition developed
by Chorus to help educate and inspire New Zealanders about the possibilities
that a country connected with ultra-fast broadband over fibre can provide.
The winning ‘Gigatown‘ will receive access to a 1 Gigabit
per second (1Gbps) internet connection at the price you’d expect to pay for
entry level broadband at 100Mbps.
Between now and the close of the competition on November 25, five very passionate towns will compete to win points across five different challenges. One of which is our friends in Timaru.
You can find
out more about the five challenges here.
The town with
the most points at the end of the competition will become Gigatown.
To support
Timaru on their quest to become Gigatown sign up here to earn them 10 points and then head along to
their Facebook page www.facebook.com/gigatowntim
to see how else you can help.
You can find
out more about Gigatown, the prize and how it works at www.gigatown.co.nz
